About

Sarah Monay is a Licensed Professional Teacher and artist from Iriga City, Bicol. A proud alumna of Bicol University’s AB Speech and Theater Arts program, she is currently part of Tanghalang Pilipino (TP), the National Performing Arts Company for Theater, as an Actors Company Apprentice and a member of its Education Committee. She is also a part-time faculty of MINT College’s Performing Arts Department from 2022 to present.

She recently appeared in "Sigalot sa Venetia" (Le baruffe Chiozzotte) as Libera (2025) and served as understudy for Mila in Tanghalang Pilpino's "Kisapmata" (2025). She also reprised her role as Whitey in the 2025 and 2024 staging of the beloved family musical, "Sandosenang Sapatos". Her other theater credits include Tanghalang Pilipino’s "Ibon ng Lawa" (Seagull) as Nina (2024); "Pingkian: Isang Musikal" as part of the ensemble (2024); "Sandosenang Sapatos" as Whitey (2023); "Anak Datu" as Dalagang Walang Ngalan (2022 and 2023); "Nekropolis" as Lumen (2023); and "Ang Pag-uusig" (The Crucible) as Betty Parris (2023).

Sarah starred as Ringgit Dimasinop in “Dami Mong Alam”, a financial literacy web series written by Eljay Castro Deldoc, directed by Antonette Go, and produced by Tanghalang Pilipino in partnership with Visa Philippines and EON. She was among the cast of TP’s multimedia children’s program “TARA, PEEPS!” Season 2 as Anya Aghoy and Agueda Iniquito, aired in partnership with the Manila Broadcasting Company through DZRH channels. Sarah also starred as Alex Francisco in "Lakbay Isip: A Mind's Journey", a three-episode web series on mental health produced by the National Endowment Fund for Children's Television in partnership with Tanghalang Pilipino and St. Scholastica’s College - Manila.

Before pursuing a professional theater career in Manila, she served as a full-time college instructor under Bicol University’s Humanities Department for four years. Aside from being an actor, she is also a playwright commissioned by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts for a stage adaptation of a Filipino epic as part of the Philippine Epic Project (2022), a stage manager, an assistant production manager, and an enthusiastic blogger. She maximizes artistic and academic affiliations to advocate for youth mobilization, community development, and voters’ education, among others–and believes that she is a student of life, for life.
